Description: DAV is the artist’s rendering, compilation and interpretation of all wounded Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen who serve in our nation’s armed forces. “It is for those of us who carry the wounds of war — some wounds bleed, some wounds are invisible; all wounds cause pain.” (~William G. Lillibridge) DAV is made of recycled, found and vintage objects. Parts include: Vintage electrical fuse box, industrial power tool parts, conduit, found iron screening, pencil sharpener parts, small engine parts, vintage Buick hood ornament, metal tool box, engine car parts, toolbox, wire and other items. Both eyes and body light up.
Event: “DAV” is currently guest of the 2013 Minneapolis VA Health Care System Creative Art Competition Show. “DAV” is available for public viewing at the VA Medical Center 2nd Floor Flag Atrium Balcony on; Wednesday, Feb 13th 8:30am-3:30pm, Thursday, Feb 14th Noon-3:00pm and Friday, Feb 15th 8:30 am -noon.
